Hello, and welcome to Cultivating the Good! If you’ve already done some poking around, great! If this is your first visit, let me share with you a little bit about the purpose of this new blog.
First things first, my name is Em. For the last eight years, I’ve worked in the food, agriculture, and nonprofit world. I’ve been with organizations both large and small, in all stages of development, and with a range of different resources.
I started Cultivating the Good in order to recognize, highlight, and explore the organizations, businesses, and people who I think are making a difference in our food system. You can read more about my mission on the About page.
I decided to launch this website today in celebration of the third annual Food Day, a nationwide celebration of healthy, affordable, and sustainably produced food. Across the U.S., more than 4,500 events in all 50 states are taking place today—and the launch of Cultivating the Good will add one more event to that list.
If you’ve found your way here, you must care about food and agriculture, too. I hope you stick around and join the conversation.
